A momentous interactive session by Shantanu Narayanen, Chief and CEO, Adobe Inc and proud alumnus of the University College of Engineering (UCE) , Osmania University was held at the Assembly Hall, UCE OU. There was a overwhelming response from the students and faculty members of the college. Prof Sriram Venkatesh, Principal UCE highlighted the achievements and developments of the college in his welcome address.
Shantanu Narayen was conferred honorary doctorate by Osmania University at the 83rd Convocation held on October 31, Tuesday.
Dr D Vijay Kumar, president OU EC Alumni association briefed the achievements of OU Foundation. Dr Shantanu Narayan, in his interactive session, began by talking about his undergraduate days while pursuing electronics and communication engineering from the college, where he actively participated in sports such as tennis alongside his academics.
He went on to narrate his journey to the United States where he completed his master’s and proceeded to join Adobe. Sir touched various beneficial topics which were questioned by the audience such as having the will to stay motivated, on how he managed to stay in Adobe for so many years, according to a media release from the OU.
He was also asked about maintaining one’s work-life balance, on which he specified the importance of taking some days off. He motivated the students to pursue only what interests them. He shared how he handles critical moments as CEO with an analogy of Cricket Match. He advised the students to work hard and be passionate about the future.
This was followed by felicitation of Shantanu Narayen by OU Registrar Prof P Lakshmi Narayana, Principal, UCE, Dean FoE and Dr Vijay Kumar.
Prof P Chandra Sekhar, Viceprincipal, UCE proposed Vote of Thanks. Before the interactive session, Shantanu visited the Department of ECE and recollected his sweet memories.
