Rama Krishna Sangem
Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao slammed Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led BJP government at the Centre for failing to resolve the dispute of water sharing between Andhra Pradesh and Telangana States in the Krishna river. It is not keen on resolving the inter state water disputes, he remarked.
Addressing the public meeting at Kollapur here on Saturday, the Chief Minister said that it had been 10 years since the BJP government was in power at the Centre but it didn’t take any initiative to resolve the issue of Krishna river water sharing.
The Chief Minister also accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who claims himself to be a Vishwaguru, of not writing even a single letter to the Krishna Water Disputes Tribunal on sharing the river water.
“PM Modi has not been taking any initiative for the last ten years on the issue. Even BJP leaders from Telangana are not daring to raise the issue before the Prime Minister. If Telangana BJP leaders have courage, they should at first fight with PM Modi and should ask him to resolve the water sharing issue immediately,” KCR said.
The Chief Minister also called upon the people to protest against the Telangana BJP leaders for failing to convince the union government on resolving the water sharing issue and also asked the people to teach a fitting lesson to the saffron party in the days to come.
KCR also slammed the opposition leaders, mainly belonging to the combined Mahabubnagar district, for working against the interests of Telangana and alleged that they had caused the delay in execution of the PRLIS for the reasons best known to them.
Earlier the chief minister formally dedicated the Palamuru Jurala Lift Irrigation scheme to the public and switched the wet run on of the project.
Ministers Singireddi Niranjan Reddy, Sabitha Indra Reddy, Patnam Mahender Reddy , Srinivas Goud , chief secretary Shanthi Kumari and MLC Palla Rajeshwar Reddy were present .
