Noted financial entrepreneur Sudhakar Gande joined BJP in the presence of union minister and party Telangana unit president G Kishan Reddy and senior leader Etela Rajender in Delhi on January 31, Wednesday. Besides Sudhakar, two other seniors – T Vinod Rao and Yella Reddy – from non-political background too joined the party. They were welcomed into the party by Kishan Reddy and Rajender. Sudhakar Gande, now chairman of US India SME Council and many technology and financial ventures is from combined Warnagal district, but now operates from Hyderabad, Bangalore and Delhi. He was earlier worked as MD of Global Trust Bank to salvage it from the financial troubles in late ’90s. His father Prof Lakshmi Narayana worked as vice-chancellor of JNTU for a decades in 1980s. Sudhakar is an alumni of IIT Delhi.
Recently, Sudhakar Gande met Union Home Minister Amit Shah in Hyderabad and expressed his desire to join BJP. Shah welcomed him into the party. While introducing Sudhakar Gande to the media in Delhi, Rajender said he is involved in many social activities and NGOs too, to empower women among others. Gande organised several meetings in support of BJP candidates in Malkajgiri and other constituencies in the recent assembly elections.
Vinod Rao is from Khammam while Yella Reddy, a scientist is from combined Nizamabad district. Entry of these three reflected the overwhelming support of business and other sections to the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Talking to Excel India, Sudhakar Gande said: “I am happy to join BJP, as ‘am attracted to the leadership of PM Modi and many of his policies in the last one decade”.
Sudhakar said that Bharat under the leadership of PM Modi would become a major global power soon. “PM Modi’s goal of making our country Vikasit Bharat by 2047 is historic and courageous. We all should back him in his efforts. I am sure, BJP will come to power with a massive majority in the coming parliamentary elections”.
Sudhakar said he would play whatever the role the party allots to him. The other two too said the same. As the BJP leadership is considering fielding some fresh faces in the coming Lok Sabha elections from Telangana. The party is keen on winning at least 10 out of the 17 MP seats from Telangana. In 2019 BJP won 4 MPs. In the recent assembly elections, BJP bagged 8 MLAs, up from its 2018 tally of just 1.
