Raw beauty of Tipeshwar Wildlife Sanctuary in Yavatmal district of Maharashtra has floored BRS Rajya Sabha member J Santosh Kumar. This young MP visited the sanctuary, part of Melghat Tiger Reserve that spans both Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh last week. Compared to any other tiger reserves in India, this belt is rich with flora and fauna, as its sits on junction of Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisghar and Telangana boders.

Santosh founded Green India Challenge (GIC) five years ago to spread the cause of greenery not only in Telangana, but also in other parts of the country. “Wildlife never ceases to enthrall us. Of late, had an amazing field trip to Tipeshwar Wildlife Sanctuary and Melghat Tiger Reserve. Carried back beautiful memories. A few glimpses of birds, animals captured by me during this tour,” he tweeted this Sunday, April 23.

Dressed in a jungle jacket and cap, Santosh carried his camera with special lenses to click different pics of nature in the forest. He traveled by an open top jeep provided by the forest department for visitors. He also tweeted a small streaming of album of his photos there. Tapeshwar, spreading about 148 sq km is part of Melghat Tiger Reserve that is bigger, with 1,667 sq km area.

Bengal Tigers

Though Santosh couldn’t click them, Bengal Tigers are famous in Melghat Tiger Reserve and Tipeshwar sanctuary.  Some of them visit adjoining Kavval forest in Telangana for food. Many foreign tourists come here to see Bengal tigers, known for their majesty and prowess. Santosh’s lence got the images of deer, bison, birds and trees too. You can try to get a pic of a tiger next time, if you are lucky.

Within no time, his tweets got 3,045 views, 145 likes and 35 retweets on social media. Netizens complimented the MP for his dedication and passion for wildlife and nature photography. We, at Excel India, hope many parents will take their children to Tipeshwar Sanctuary during these Summer holidays. And encourage them to take photos of the wildlife. That would be a memory to treasure with!
