Allu Arjun, hero of Pushpa-The Rise, Part -1 has been chosen the Best Actor (male) in the 69th National Film Awards 2023, that were declared in New Delhi, on August 24, Thursday. Alia Bhatt and Kriti Sanon shared the Best Actress award for their stellar performances in Gangubai Kathiawadi and Mimi films respectively. This is the first time, a Telugu actor – Allu Arjun – won a Best Actor awards at the National Awards.
Filmmaker Ketan Mehta announced the awards. The jury of the national awards announced awards for 31 films in feature films category, while 24 awards under non-feature film category and three awards in film writing category. Telugu best film critic award went to Purushottamacharylu. The awards brought loud cheers from Tollywood, Telugu film industry as at least 10 awards went to its people this year.
RRR echoed at the awards
The National Film Awards 2023 have been announced and everyone has been waiting for it with bated breath. ‘Sardar Udham’, ‘RRR‘, ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’ have won big at the National awards. Neerja Sekhar, Additional Secretary, I&B, told the media that a total of 280 feature films in 28 languages and 158 non-feature films in 23 languages were received for consideration.
The best feature film award went to R Madhavan’s ‘Rocketery: The Nambi Effect’. Meanwhile, Alia Bhatt won the National Award for Best Actress for ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’. She shared it with Kriti Sanon for ‘Mimi’. Allu Arjun has won the ‘Best Actor’ for ‘Pushpa: The Rise’. Meanwhile, the award for the best film on National Integration has gone to ‘The Kashmir Files’.
‘RRR’ has won the National Award for Best Film providing wholesome entertainment. RRR also bags awards for Action Direction, Choreography, Special Effects. Sanjay Leela Bhansali won the award for Best Editing for ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’. Pallavi Joshi and Pankaj Tripathi won the Best Actor In A Supporting Role (Female and Male respectively) for ‘The Kashmir Files’ and ‘Mimi‘.
