Morning walkers in all the parks of Hyderabad city limits were greeted with a pleasant surprise on Sunday. Music bands with different instruments treated them with melodies, from 7 to 8 am. All those thronged the city parks, around 75 to be precise, enjoyed this experience, as part of Telangana government’s initiative to celebrate 75 years of Indian Independence.
Hyderabad Municipal Development Authority (HMDA), Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) & Tatvaa Arts, Hyderabad, have organized “Shubhodayam” Music concerts in Hyderabad on August 21, as part of the “Swatantra Bharata Vajrotsavalu”, to commemorate 75 years of Independence of India,
The overwhelming citizens of Hyderabad have witnessed one of the greatest music concerts of this year where 150 musicians of Hyderabad came together to perform 75 live Hindustani and Carnatic Classical instrumental music concerts on the same day and at the same time in 75 different parks of Hyderabad. This is a unique experiment by the civic authorities.
This event was curated by Tatvaa Arts an organization based out of Hyderabad under the guidance and support of Swatantra Bharata Vajrotsavalu Committee and meticulous planning of Arvind Kumar, IAS, Special Chief Secretary, MAUD (Muncipal Administration and Urban Development) of Telangana government, according to a media release by the government.
The motive behind organizing morning concerts in the park was to take traditional classical Music to the common man and get all the Classical musicians on one platform. Forests, Environment and Science & Technology Minister A Indrakaran Reddy, Mahesh Muralidhar Bhagwat, IPS among others who participated in this drive at various parks. locations.
All the Artists were happy to perform morning ragas in such a pleasant natural environment to celebrate 75 years of Independence and pay their respects to their motherland. Renowned classical musicians of Hyderabad with traditional instruments like Sarangi, Sitar, Shehnai, flute & Veena with their students of all age groups have performed in this celebration.
To specify Violin recital by a talented budding artist Nayna Nimmagadda 10 years old student of 6 th Grade (From Delhi Public School, Nacharam) to 75 years of age BS Narayanan, a renowned Violin artist participated in this celebration.
Audience was enthralled with the performances and requested organizers to keep organizing such programs at least once a month as musical therapy in the park.
